SEO Basics

SEO Basics

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a foreign field to a lot of people. It is rare that a day goes by when I do not get some questions on the subject. So I decided to post this FAQ article in the hopes that it will help people understand the basics, and make them a little more comfortable with the whole domain.

Q: Why they are important to me search engines?

A: 85% of all website traffic is driven by search engines. The only activity most popular online search is email. 79.2% of US users do not go to page 2 of search results. 42% of users click on the no.1 result. For the age group under 40 years, the Internet will become the most used media in the next 2-3 years.

Q: How do search engines decide on their rankings work?

A: IMPORTANT: You can not pay a search engine in exchange for a high ranking in the natural results. You can only get a high ranking if your content is considered relevant by the search engines.
search engines identify relevant content for their search results by sending "spiders" or "robots" that 'tracking' () analyze your site and 'index' (record) its details. Then complex algorithms are used to determine if your site is useful and should be included in the search results of the search engine.

Q: Can I simply buy a high ranking?

A: No. The biggest concern for search engine companies like Google and Yahoo is finding content that will bring them more traffic (and thus more advertising revenue). In other words, their results must be relevant. Relevant results makes for a good search engine; irrelevant results makes for a search engine short-lived.

Q: How I can get a high ranking?

A: There are four main steps:
Step 1 – Use the right words on your website
Step 2 – Get lots of relevant sites to link to yours
Step 3 – Use the right words in those links
Step 4 – have lots of content on your site and add more regularly

Q: What is the search engine optimization (SEO)?

A: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art of creating a website that is search engine-friendly. This means:
1 using the right words in your copy
2 using the right words in HTML code
3 structuring your site properly
4 design your site correctly

Several people use SEO to also describe the other ingredient in a high graduation, "Link popularity".

Q: What is link popularity? A

: Think of search engines as a great choice. Most websites in the world are candidates. Links to your website are votes. The more votes (links) a candidate (website) has, the more important it is, and the higher ranking. Link popularity has to do with the number of links you have, and how you can get more.
links to your site tell the search engines how important your site. They assume that if it is important enough for a lot of other sites to link to, is important enough to be displayed on the top of the standings. Links are the most important feature in the ranking. Generally speaking, the more connections you have to your site from other sites, the better the ranking.

When a search engine sees a link which satisfies most or all of these conditions, it is said, 'Hey, this site must be credible and important, because others in the same industry to the same'.

Q: How do I get a lot of links to my site?

A: There are many possible ways to generate links. Some are dubious (like auto-generation software and configured by webmasters simply to host links to their other sites sites) and we will not discuss here.

Q: What do you think is the best way to get lots of links? A

: Article PR. Write helpful articles and let other webmasters who publish for free in exchange for a link in the band. Also with article PR, you do not have to buy the link, the content of the page containing the link is determined, the link text is determined, and the link is more or less permanent. A single article can be reprinted hundreds of times, and each time is another link to your site.

Q: How long does it take to get a high ranking in search engines?

A: Long. It is impossible to say how long they will have to spend generating links, but you could be sure it will be a time regardless of the method of generation of strings used. Just keep at it until it has reached a high rank. Even then, you still need to dedicate some ongoing time to the task, otherwise your ranking will drop.

Q: What is the Google Sandbox, and is it real?

A: The Google Sandbox theory suggest that whenever Google detects a new website, which retains its classification that corresponds to a period that determines whether your site is a credible authentic site, in the long term. It does this to discourage the creation of SPAM websites (sites which serve no useful purpose other than to increase the ranking of some other site).

There is much anecdotal evidence supporting the theory, but there are also a lot I discount it. No one has categorically proven its existence.

Q: What is Google Link wet filter, and it is real?

A: The filter theory Google Dampening Link suggests that if Google detects a sudden increase (ie many hundreds or thousands) in the number of links to your site, it may sandbox them for a period (or, in fact, be penalized by lowering your ranking or blacklisting your site altogether).

There is much anecdotal evidence supporting the theory, but there are also a lot I discount it. No one has categorically proven its existence.

Q: What SEO companies should be careful not to?

A: Beware of SEO companies that promise or guarantee results in a given period of time, especially if they will not expand on their methods for generating links to your site.

Q: What is keyword analysis?

A: The first thing to do when you begin chasing a good position in search engines is to decide which words you need to rank well for. This is called performing a keyword analysis. Keyword analysis involves a bit of research and a good understanding of your business and the benefits it offers its customers.

Q: Do I have to submit my site to search engines?

A: In theory, no. But I would not risk not doing so – especially since it is free. As soon as your domain name you register, send it to Google. Even if you have not built your site, or thought about your content, submit your domain name to Google. In fact, even if it has not been fully developed your business plan and marketing plan, submit your domain name to Google.

Q: Should I submit my site to search engines more than once?

R: Not required. Although some search engines let you do this, there is really no need.

Backlinks

Backlinks

Almost everyone who has a website knows the importance of back links. They are a good measure of the strength range in the search engine, and they are really easy to get beautiful.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to get them. During times when you can look gorgeous overwhelming at first, getting backlinks can quickly become the easiest part of your business website. Here are some of the fastest and easiest to get back links to your site: 1.

Forum messages – this is really easy, especially if you're wanting in the subject of your website. Simply Google the topic of your web site and forum, and try to join at least 3. Then make your signature link to your website, and try to post at least 20 messages per day by the forum. Actually, it should only take one or two hours per day, and from their posts remain active in the forum, you know that the links remain active as well. The only bad thing about this method is that all links will be 3 sites, and that the traffic you get is unpredictable.

2.

Yahoo. Answers – almost as easy as forum posts, but can be much more repetitive. Just go to Yahoo. Answers and create an account. Then enter setup and present them to be notified whenever an open question can be found in its category. Answer the questions as best you can, then put the link to your website in the resource box. Things I do not like this method is that there are only so many questions to answer, and that traffic is unpredictable. Also, people tend to ask the same questions over and over and over again, so it can be repetitive.

3. Articles

– even items take much longer than any of the messages in the forum or yahoo answers, which are a good way to create a large number of back links while driving a lot of traffic to your site. The reason they are so good is because if your article is published, you may receive backlinks you have already created content. This is a much more efficient way of working, because you can get multiple back links from content that could have created years ago.

4. Blogs – There are two ways you can create backlinks with records: You can post comments on other blogs, which always leads, but is very efficient; or you can simply create their own blogs to help drive traffic to your website, or even build a blog on a website. Now I know what you're thinking, if your website how can you get links? Submit your blog to RSS feeds and used any way the power will automatically create a backlink to your site.

Again this is a very efficient way to get a lot of backlinks rapidly as you are potentially getting hundreds of backlinks of each piece of content that is created.
