Boglin Marsh Top 50 Pigeon Sites.
At various points around the Internet many sites offer a 'Vote for Us
at the 'Top 100 Sites' However when veiwing the vast majority of the so called
top 100, many of them although fortunately not all, are nothing more than
a blatant advert for the particular individuals self promotional pages and
advertising. Although they may record several visitors, very few of the visitors
will ever return, because the site has nothing of value to offer. The Top
Position is maintained by the fact that visitors click onto the Vote for Us
at the Top 100 sites in an effort to leave and find something better! I have
even known single page adverts to rank top positions in the Top 100 - something
which belies the title of the Top 100 Sites. Therefore we have decided to
do away with any voting and use an editing process - web site owners may submit
their site directly to Steve. He will visit the site and contact other website
owners to visit and assess, then if it truly warrants a place within our Top
50, several pages will be set aside to describe the sites and their merits,
with an appropriate banner. If you don't have a banner then we will make one
for you.
Our own sites
( Boglin Marsh, Homing World Net., Girls World, Web Links and Youth Club)
will not be included in the list.
Obviously We will be looking for a nucleus of assessment editors, after which
each listed site owner will be expected to take an active part in reviewing
applications. Steve will mail some top site owners to request their 'Free-time'
aid in this matter. Editors sites will be included.
You may also apply to be a voluntary editor and be notified of new applications
via our newsletter. Any editor who attempts to sway the vote will be removed
from participation - we want the list to be totally unbiased in an effort
to find the very best -- website 'blocking' will not be tolerated.
All listed sites will be deemed to be of equal standing.
The Criteria for inclusion is simple :
1) The site must have at least ten pages.
2) It must be informative and not a blatant advert for goods etc.
3) It must have good navigation.
4) It must download quickly and not be overly background graphic intensive.
( this often makes a site unreadable and confusing - the motto
should be KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid)
5) It must not be overloaded with music that cannot be turned off.
6) It must not declare itself as : 'The Best site on the Net' - 'The Best
Site in the World' etc. ( this is childish and insulting to other site owners, and frowned
upon by human search engine editors - have you ever wondered why some sites
never rank?)
7) The site owner must not 'Spam' other people with unwanted email in an effort
to gain visitors. (If you wish to keep people informed, then set up a newsletter to which
they may apply for email updates or cancel when no longer wishing it ) 8) The site must offer help, advice, free stuff and have the sport
at heart.
9) The site must have an owner edited links page and unbroken links that work.
( self submit free for all links will not count as a links page,
but you may use Boglin Marsh links as your own via a single link direct to
page )
10) There must not knowingly be any links to adult XXX sites either directly
or indirectly.
11) There must be a working link to Boglin Marsh 'Top 50' sites which will
benefit all within the category.

12) The site must have a Guest Book and preferably one that accepts html images
from visitors.
(Not critical but try to have two Guest Books, so that people have
a choice)
When your site has been accepted you will be contacted for your banner and
site description.
If you feel that you agree with our assessment of
present situations, and wish to be a part of this, then email Steve for inclusion
with a site that fulfils the above criteria. It will be visited and considered.
We will eventually extend the list to 100 sites. However 50 is sufficient
to begin with, and some will be added as normal links into our links pages,
so that nobody may feel insulted if not making the Top 50 at first attempt.
Sites will be re-visited upon re-application.
We reserve the right to remove any site should it break the rules or knowingly
include adult XXX links, either directly or indirectly at some later date.
Sites may only be submitted once per month - any multiple
submissions will be considered as Spam and debarred from entry! Only submit
the site once, bulk email annoys and will not get your site seen! When your
site has attained 'Top 50' status - there will be no need to submit it again
- it will remain in place.
